Commuting Versus Working from Home
The disadvantages of commuting can easily be encapsulated in one word: traffic. This can mean both the automotive traffic on the streets and the people traffic if you take the jeep, bus, or train. With automotive traffic, you end up spending more on gas and car maintenance as your car endures turtle-pace running day in and day out. And it’s not like gas, as it is, comes cheap! Even those without cars have to endure automotive traffic daily if they take buses and jeeps to their data entry jobs. Imagine a standing room only bus while your bus moves ever so slow – hell on earth!
Working at an office
But then again, there are advantages to reporting to data entry jobs daily. First of course is the people at work. If you go to an office, chances are you are more likely to make new friends. These friends are readily accessible for those payday after-work escapades. Getting to know them and spending time with them can be a lot of fun. Likewise, in an office, you stay in an environment that’s dedicated to work. Everyone’s there for the same thing so you can concentrate on tasks at hand. At the same time, you can expect to stop work at a given time. This gives you time to focus on other important matters, like family and hobbies.
Working at home
With working at home for, say, data entry jobs, you have all the important aspects of your life in one place: work, family, hobbies, and everything else. This is good for the most part, if you are able to concentrate on particular tasks and are not easily distracted. If you are prone to distraction, having all these might just seem like chaos to you. Self-discipline and concentration are very important. The utmost disadvantage of working from home is the lack of a “work environment.” You might just lose yourself in other things and not be able to produce your required output.
